An excellent opportunity has arisen within one of our clients for a Depot Manager to join the team in Bristol. The purpose of this role is to manage the warehouse and transport operation efficiently to achieve targeted performance levels.

Our client is an expanding retailer with over 300 stores nationwide, serviced currently by three strategically placed distribution centres. Later this year they are expanding their network; part of this is the opening of a new DC in Bristol.
They are looking for a Depot Manager, who will report to the Operations Director, to lead a large team working over a fast multi temperature 24/7 operation.

Role Purpose:

As Depot Manager you will look plan, manage and grow the depot, culture, values and the well-being of your people and operation so that the financial and customer KPI’s are met and exceeded.

Leading your operation in the delivery of an effective service, ensuring that the timed multi temperature Fleet and Warehousing services meet agreed budgets and deliver agreed levels of profitability.

You will build delivery capability and working practices to support growth and ensure that your operations staffs exceeds expectation, building our reputation and brand in the market.

Reporting into the role is the Warehouse Operations Manager and Transport Operations Manager, being a 24/7 operation, the post holder will be expected to cover shifts as required to effectively manage the operation.

Requirements:

The ideal Depot Manager will have team management experience gained in a complex logistics, transport and food retail environment and a motivational approach to leadership. Excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills are essential.

You should also have an understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or Cost Centre management along with coaching skills and you should possess solid organisational and planning skills.

You should have experience of implementing and achieving KPI`s and SLA`s and the delivery of a service plan and possess solid commercial awareness and the ability to meet set budgets.
