I am currently recruiting for an experienced HR Officer to join a logistic organisation in Bedford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the HR Advisors in regard to first line Employee Relations issues, all enquiries to be deal with in a timely, consistent and accurate manner. Responsible for ensuring all HR activities are carried out to the required standards and timescales as set out in the Companies policies and procedures. Pro-actively managing and updating all HR policies and procedures, Template Contracts, and the Company Handbook, to ensure legal and best practise compliance at all times.

The successful candidate will have worked as a generalist HR professional in either a logistics or manufacturing sector. They will also ideally have experience of “Chris 21” and “Kronos” HR Database and be familiar with the “Hay Methodology”.
This is an urgent 1 year contract and the successful candidate will be available to start immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor new starters progress into the business to ensure they are fully integrated into the business, responsible for delivering a weekly Company wide induction process
• Provide quality first point of contact to managers, supervisors, team leaders and depots, escalating and disseminating enquiries and cases as necessary
• Provide consistent and accurate HR advice in a timely fashion via email, telephone, letter etc
• Assist in the review, maintenance and communication of HR policies and procedures and highlight any changes in current legislation/best practice to the HR dept.
• Responsible for ensuring the handbook is up to date and meet and exceeds the standards required by law and best practice
• Responsible for the administration of all training within the business, pro-actively manage SOP updates, H&S requirements etc
• Book where requested external/internal training courses, responsible for booking rooms, ensuring rooms set up, equipment available etc
• Responsible for the recruitment within the business
• Involvement in ongoing HR projects as required and directed
• Responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions
• Undertake ad hoc tasks and/or projects as requested

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• CPP Certificate holder/CIPD part/fully qualified
• Proven HR Employee Relationship skills
• Strong PC Skills: Word (advanced), Excel (advanced), Outlook
• HR data base skills ideally Chris 21 and Kronos
• Ability to communicate at all levels across the business
• Ability to re-prioritise to meet changing business demands
