Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with a Professional Services firm who are looking to add a HR Advisor to their existing team for a fixed term of up to 1 year.

The HR Advisor will support the implementation of Human Resources strategies and plans for the firm and support the HR Manager and help advise Managers in designated offices on the implementation of HR Policies and Practices for continued organisational development.

Responsibilities:
• In the context of the firm’s Business Plan, contribute to the preparation of the HR strategy & plan to support continuous development in the areas of Resourcing, Compensation and Benefits, Learning and Development and Employee Relations.
• Attend and contribute to HR planning, review & monthly meetings.
• Report on regular basis to the HR Manager on progress against the annual agreed HR Plan.
• Proactively manage, monitor and review processes in relation to HR practices and recommend courses of action.
• Support the management of entire recruitment process for designated offices to ensure an efficient and effective approach to recruitment of trainees, seniors, managers and support staff in line with agreed staffing levels/resourcing plan.
• Communicate progress against plan and agree local recruitment initiatives with HR Manager as appropriate.
• Participation in regional external salary and benefits surveys to ensure the firm has benchmark data on which to make salary decisions.
• Provide advice and guidance on salaries to Managers in designated offices, ensuring that internal relativities are maintained and the firm remains attractive to candidates.
• Support individuals with career plans where required and liaise with the HR Manager where applicable. Review the learning and development being undertaken in each designated office against the training/development which has been defined/agreed for each role or is part of the individuals’ career plan.
• Participate in the Induction Process, providing advice and guidance to line managers, as well as co-facilitating Firm Induction Days.
• Support and help drive the Performance Review process, issuing timely reminders and guidance to managers as appropriate and collate training needs.
• Maintain generic and office specific job descriptions and ensure these reflect the current requirements of the role.
• Working closely with line managers, sensitively and professionally support all employee relations issues, including but not limited to, health & safety advice, grievance matters, conduct & capability issues, whilst providing advice and coaching as appropriate to managers and consulting with HR Manager as appropriate.
• Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of employment legislation.
• Provide advice and guidance on performance appraisal and performance management principles, training and coaching as required.
• Ensure diversity and equality issues are addressed in all HR activities.
• Contribute to delivery of HR plan & budget
• Take direction on projects and priorities from line manager, which may vary from time to time; undertake work as delegated to ensure that the HR plan is delivered to the agreed timings and within agreed resources.
• Attend monthly one-to-one’s with HR Manager and actively participate in performance review process, to ensure high quality service and achievement of the HR work plan.
• Ensuring effective financial control of expenditure in line with the budget.

Person Specification:
• CPP or working towards CIPD or equivalent qualification.
• At least two year’s HR experience in very busy adviser role, operating to strict deadlines and handling conflicting priorities.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of HR Practices and Employment Law.
• Ability to influence others and demonstrate good interpersonal & negotiating skills whilst being polite and helpful at all times.
• Strong effective communicator in writing, business presentations and interpersonal communication.
• Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality.
• Demonstrates ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches and departmental contribution whilst being cost sensitive.
• Ability to achieve results.
• Good judgement & decision making skills.
