Process/Machine Setters are responsible for ensuring that the controls on a particular machine or process are set up correctly. The main function of the job is to ensure that all the equipment and machinery is set up correctly to manufacture the product and that these conditions are maintained to the same standard throughout the production period.

The work involves setting and changing of mould tools the relevant moulding machine. Problem solving and analytical skills are required to adjust the controls and settings to ensure the process continues to operate to specification. Knowledge of materials being processed into a product is essential, as the settings will vary dependent upon the material being processed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Carry out in order to "Make daily plan".
2. Health & Safety & Environmental issues
3. Smooth launch at new product introduction stage
4. Do not pass quality problem to next process.
5. Confirm the process element control.
6. Achieve change over time in line with company target.
7. KPS philosophy is understood & reflected in all activities.

TASKS

1. Carry out in order to "Make daily plan".
Understand production plan & is able to stay positive to change in customer requirement.

2. Health & Safety & Environmental issues
Understand & applies the first 3"S" in their daily work.
To ensure that the press complies with Current Health and Safety legislation, after tool changes.

3. Smooth launch at new product introduction stage
Is activity giving feedback to Technician (& PSM/Manager) for lessons and learnt activity
Able to contribute to the development of the setting card & establish the standard work for set up of new tooling.
Basic programming of robots and de-gaters to handle products and complete any secondary process operation.

4. Do not pass quality problem to next process.
Complete the first off process with absolute integrity.
Complete the process control change point blue book & escalates abnormality to Technician (& PSM/Manager).
Identification of tooling conditions and repairs required.

5. Confirm the process element control.
Is able to set single colour machines 65t ~1000t.
Is able to set Multi colour machines 900t~1450t.
Adjusting machine settings to maintain the process to specification.
Carry out process monitoring checks using Statistical Process Control techniques.

6. Achieve change over time in line with company target.
Is able to apply SMED Principles through standardised work in a timely manner.

7. KPS philosophy is understood & reflected in all activities.
Understand the basic principles of KPS.
