Our client a National Charity are now looking to expand their UK Procurement team and are now looking to recruit a Category Manager : Technical Services. The role reports into the Corporate Procurement Manager.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for the provision and lead responsibility of commercial procurement activity; advice and support on a wide range of spend categories across the organisation including Property, IT and Telecommunications, Stationery and Office Costs, Utilities and Activity Equipment. Total Spend across those categories is c£19m.
Principal Accountabilities:

£ Manage and maintain responsibility for the professional or technical category portfolio, including all tendering activity.
£ Produce sourcing strategies, Request for Information, Invitation to Tender documents and drafting of robust contract agreements.
£ Procurement activities in line with Corporate Procurement objectives, ensuring fairness, openness and audit ability.
£ Maintain knowledge and to apply legal frameworks and contract law.
£ Provide advice and assistance to stakeholders on all procurement related matters within the portfolio.
£ Negotiating appropriate commercial and contractual arrangements with suppliers and for all products and services within spend control, including managing category supply base to ensure delivery against legal and commercial requirements.
£ Determine, develop and implement robust contract management techniques, including key performance indicators to effectively manage suppliers and drive quality and performance.
£ Apply corporate systems to produce monthly and quarterly, timely, accurate, relevant and effective compliance management information for all managers and budget holders, showing progress and performance against compliance and spend.
£ Apply corporate systems to provide ad hoc procurement management information as requested by the Corporate Procurement Manager/Head of Procurement.
£ Management of complete product/service life cycles
To be successful in this role you will have:
£ A high level of educational achievement commensurate with the responsibilities of the post. CIPS qualified would be advantageous
£ Experience of implementing business planning processes in a large and /or complex organisation
£ Knowledge and understanding of use of balanced scorecards or other tools for monitoring corporate performance
£ Full understanding of Category Management and excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
£ Ability to analyse complex performance data and trends and produce management reports
£ Skilled at writing reports, papers and presentations in order to communicate a range of performance management information
