Job Information

Our client is a responsible developer of new homes and communities. They are also specialists in regeneration and design and build contracting. With this blend of skills, estate regeneration, private and affordable housing and the creation of sustainable communities are a significant feature of our client’s activities. A proportion of this includes commercial property and mixed-use development.

They are now looking to recruit a Senior Buyer reporting into the Associate Buying Director.

The purpose of the Job is to ensure the fundamental principles of Buying are achieved with our vision to generate attractive returns by creating outstanding places for people to live, work and enjoy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-Procuring materials within budgets in time to progress works on site.
-Producing monthly budgetary control reports on all materials purchased for each site.
-Procuring and hiring plant required on site including cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes and transport etc.
-Resolving account queries with suppliers that the accounts department have failed to resolve through normal procedures.
-Resolving disputes between suppliers and the company.
-Procuring site staff protective clothing.
-Required to attend and report on procurement at each site monthly progress meeting.
-Required to on occasion take off material quantities from drawings and produce schedules from which to procure.
-Assist the estimating department with obtaining pre tender quotations and resolving material specification issues.
-Ensure compliance with ISO9000 & ISO14001 Policies.
-Responsible for compliance with the clients environmental. Security and disabled requirements.
-Procures customer care related materials.

To be successful in this exciting role you will:

-Be a Buyer with sound knowledge of Construction techniques, Building Standards, --Environmental and disability standards.
-Excellent negotiation skills coupled with sound stakeholder management skills.
-Full knowledge of current pricing levels in this industry.
-Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Requirements.
-Computer literate and numerate.
