Our client is a well established and respected business based in Hull and they are looking to recruit a commercially focused Accountant to join the business as a Finance Business Partner.

Working as part of the management team, the role will involve providing and interpreting key financial information and to support the business with decisions around growth, profitability and business performance.

In addition to analysing and reviewing the financials, the role will also involve meeting with department heads to review and interpret the figures, suggesting areas of improvement and maximise further business opportunities. So in addition to strong technical accounting experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Key duties will include;

•Providing commercial support to departments across the business - reviewing and analysis of financial figures, making recommendations for improvements and further opportunities to improve margins
•Attending regular business meetings with department heads to review department performance - interpreting figures, challenging ways of working & building on growth areas
•Being an integral member of business management teams and working with departments across the business - providing finance support and acting as a point of contact for any queries relating to financial reports.
•Production of all regular reporting, analysis and insight for assigned business functions
•Investigate unusual trends in information and highlight financial sources of opportunity
•Assess commercial viability of investment opportunities & initiatives using business case and investment appraisal techniques
•Ensure benefits of initiatives are delivered by developing robust tracking and reporting procedures
•Support the Finance Manager in ad hoc projects

For this role candidates will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified and have strong technical accounting experience. Candidates will need to have worked in a commercially focused role and be able to support the business in a business partnering capacity.

As you will be dealing with managers across the business - both finance and non-finance, it is essential that candidates can interpret key financial information and must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
