Stock Controller : Manchester : C£20,000

I am currently recruiting for a Stock Controller within a global food group. The role offers very good career progression for the right forward thinking and ambitious candidate.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main purpose of this role is to be responsible for managing stock in the warehouse by using you’re planning and quality control skills. The company operates a lean philosophy so storing of stock effectively whilst keeping stock cost as low as possible is the roles key aim.

The key responsibilities are:
• Receiving deliveries
• Reconciling delivery notes with purchase orders
• Organising stock in the warehouse
• Monthly stock take and reconciliation of stock
• Checking stock, QA checks and monthly stock audits
• Ensuring stock accuracy at all times through good use of stock control methods and systems
• Ordering from suppliers
• Investigating and correcting any stock discrepancies

The company are seeking people with all the following skills:
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word and Power point.
• Good product knowledge in the chilled food sector required.
• Stock control background/experience within a distribution/wholesale (food) environment.
• Excellent communication skills : both written and verbal.

As good communication is essential, you must possess the basic GCSE’s in Mathematics and English in addition to a full UK driving license.
