Job Purpose

This Paraplanning role requiring experience of (and confidence in) dealing with the high net worth (HNW) market. This role would be to support a small team of two Advisers and would work alongside the full time team administrator. Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and to tight deadlines are all essential. The job will entail research and report writing within a strong client focussed team culture.

To produce Client Report, Life Time Cash Flows & Suitability Letters in line with the firm’s guidelines and procedures. This involves use of the Firm’s database and meeting notes to gather information on the client, liaising with members of the team as well as client service and advisory team where necessary. Products will sometimes be specialised in nature including tax efficient investments and commercial property investments.

Qualifications & Experience

This role requires:

• Certificate In Financial Planning as a minimum and ideally Diploma
• 3 years minimum IFA industry experience
• Excellent knowledge of all pension products, and experience of pension transfers
• Good knowledge of all investment, life and pensions products and legislation.
• Report writing experience
• Good technical knowledge

Skills

Computer literacy is a pre-requisite within this role as information technology and electronic communications are an important part of the way the Firm operates.

The successful candidate will be confident in:

• Strong communication skills with providers, clients and within the company
• Preparation of client reports and suitability letters, particularly including life time cash flows using Voyant software
• Technical research and handling technical client queries where needed
• Being proactive with regard to industry changes and ensuring the team complies with FCA and internal compliance procedures, ensuring client information and files remain compliant.
• Strong IT skills (ideally in Intelliflo, Volume, Transact and Voyant)
• Ensuring all documents are checked for accuracy prior to issue to ensure excellent client service

You will need the ability to build a strong proactive working relationship with advisers, administrator and clients with whom you will deal. You will need the aptitude to assist the adviser and clients in an efficient, enthusiastic, forward thinking manner using organisational and prioritising skills :particularly important since time will be divided between two advisors. Working Conditions

It may be necessary to occasionally work outside of normal office hours in order to meet demands of client meetings.

In particular February and March each year and running up to the tax year end can be exceptionally busy and along with other team members, it may not be possible to take annual leave at this time, unless due to exceptional circumstances.

Key Tasks

Communication Concise, thoughtful and accurate communication with clients, within the team and with providers.

Research To investigate, source and provide information requested as accurately as possible within 5 days of request or such reasonable timescale as the request dictates. Use of FE Analytics and various investment research houses as well as the providers themselves to gather information.

Quotations Requests for quotations where all relevant data is available should be actioned on the day of request or within 2 days where immediate action is not possible.

Meetings Preparation for client meetings and/or internal meetings which should be attended promptly. Attending client meetings to support the advisors

Client Reports/Suitability letters Accurate & conscientious preparation of suitability letters and reports.

Mailshots Producing targeted mailshots and letters.

Technical Queries Assisting the Advisers with routine reviews and technical queries

Valuations Producing accurate portfolio valuations in anticipation of annual meeting reviews and/or ad hoc valuations as required.

Miscellaneous Other general tasks as required from time to time to assist with the provision of support to a consultant and servicing to a client.

All staff will be expected to be flexible and willing to carry out any jobs needing to be done within the company.

Hours

Normal working hours will be between 9.00 am and 5.30 pm and based at the EC1N office. This role requires that you are available to start work at 9.00 am until 5.30 pm, though there will be some flexibility, subject to approval. You may be asked to work overtime from time to time to meet the demands of the role.

Salary

Up to £40,000 plus bonus, dependent on experience and qualifications.
