Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with a public sector organisation who are looking to appoint a HR Business Partner to provide a range of HR & Training services and initiatives in line with the team’s strategy and service plan, with particular emphasis on providing advice and support to managers on all aspects of recruitment, employment law and HR policy and procedure.

Responsibilities:

• Disciplinary and Grievance handling
• Absence management
• Incapability, whether it is related to poor performance or ill-health
• Staff appraisal and objective setting
• Employment Tribunal preparation (and witness as necessary)
• Act as HR lead partner to support TUPE handling
• Organisational / team re-structures
• Act as HR lead providing high quality Recruitment administrative processes, assisting line managers in the shortlisting process
• Advising and supporting managers through the interview process
• Appointment & issue of employment contracts
• Maintenance of all files (paper and computer based)
• Reference requests
• Pre-employment checks
• Requesting DBS checks
• Oversee the recruitment budget, ensuring effective strategies are adopted to attract high quality candidates, whilst maintaining costs and where possible reducing costs year on year
• Assist in the development, delivery and documentation of policies, procedures and practices.
• Design, deliver and evaluate a range of professional skills training programmes that meet the needs of the business in liaison with the other members of the team.
• Assist all members of HR & Training to achieve service objectives as identified within the HR & Training Strategy and Service Plan, and lead on associated projects and initiatives as agreed.

Person Specification:

• Working towards CIPD qualification.

• Significant experience working within a HR team

• Knowledge of employment legislation, supported by practical experience of guiding staff managers in a range of employee relations situations.

• Understanding of good HR practice and procedures.

• An awareness of the processes involved in Employment Tribunals.

• Appropriate means of transport.
