Cameron James are currently working alongside a well established engineering company based in West Yorkshire who are actively seeking an Accounts Assistant for a full time position within a busy and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will have proven experience within a similar position and will be able to work on their own initiative for my client who has an annual turnover of over £3 million a year.

The Role:

• General Bookkeeping responsibilities dealing with 2 main suppliers mostly and arranging over 100 invoices per month
• Purchase ledger responsibilities and ensuring all payments are allocated and submitted in a timely manner
• Bank reconciliation
• Sales Ledger, mostly dealing with the domestic market and end user market ensuring invoices are sent and payments allocated
• Some chasing of outstanding debt although limited
• Telephone and email work will be essential


The Candidate:

• Ideally AAT qualified level 4 or studying toward AAT - Experience may override this
• Must have over a years experience within a similar position and have a proven background in an accounts department
• Candidates with a background in a stand alone accountancy position would be advantageous although non essential
• Excellent communication skill both written and verbal is essential
• Phenomenal organisational and time keeping skills
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Microsoft proficient - Excel, Outlook and Word mostly
