Purchasing Manager

The Company
A recognisable name in the market and one of the UK’s largest branded distributors of products for the automotive market, our client is recruiting for a Senior Buyer to lead the global operational purchasing section to facilitate continued growth.

The Role
The Purchasing Manager, although hands on, will have a more strategic responsibility for the procurement function. Key duties will be:
Leading a busy and dynamic buying team, consisting of 5 people, with full autonomy : reporting to the board of Directors.

• Accountability for stock availability.
• Fully responsible for New Product Development and new product line development.
• Maintaining and improving on SLA’s and KPI’s, specifically profit margin on product lines.
• Working with Product Testers & Marketing Teams to bring these products to the Market.
• Achieve both best price/quality/value



Requirements:

• A minimum of seven years’ experience of global sourcing, negotiation and supply arrangement of finished goods from the Far East within the mechanical/electrical product sector.
• Product Management experience : undertaking and producing market analysis reports on competitors and new products.
• You will be expected to travel to trade shows regularly and the Far East two to four times a year.
• Ideally you will already be at MCIPS level.
• A minimum of five years managerial experience : you have an established purchasing function reporting to you.
