My legal sector client is currently looking for a Management Accountant from a similar background to join their busy accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking company that can work in a role with limited supervision.

The role is to manage the bookkeeping for the firm and provide excellent services to the clients and manage two other members of the team including an accounts assistant and purchase ledger controller. You must be aware and comply with VAT and HMIT regulations.

Key duties include:

• Producing accurate management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss schedules including the monthly KPI reports
• Producing information on billing, time and matters including chargeable house bill provisioning and non chargeable hours
• Completing the quarterly and annual partnership accounts including current accounts, drawings and taxation and capital account schedules including quarterly partners allowance payments.
• Completing year end audit filed and year end liaising with external auditors.
• Producing and reviewing daily, monthly and quarterly cashflows and annual valuations including liaising with fee earners and partners
• Reviewing expenses and approving daily nominal and disbursement cheques including online bank submissions
• Quarterly VAT returns including ESL quarterly submissions and VAT queries
• Preparing PSA agreements and P11d preparations
• Reconciling legal aid matters and liaising with legal cashiers
• Partnership tax preparations
• Distributing monthly reports
• Coordinating and overseeing the work perfomed by accounts assistant and purchase ledger controller to monitor and appraise their performances
• Completing Fixed assets and lease creditors


Key skills:

• Excellent Excel and IT skills
• Strong accuracy and orgnisational skills
• Good team player who can communicate at all levels
• Previous experience in a similar role
