I am currently recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager for a facilities organisation in Herts.

They are looking to recruit a proven and experienced Bid Writer to join our Bid Team. The newly created ‘specific’ role has been developed to help write Tenders and Pre-Qualifications and to aid with winning and securing successful bids. The role will cover all service streams within the organisation.

The successful candidate will need to ensure the brand and the chosen strategy to win the business is clearly articulated in a professional and creative manner, as such will work closely with the Bid Director and Sales Director.

The successful candidate with have worked in a similar position and have outstanding proposal / writing skills with an eye for detail.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• To write professionally from both an operational and strategic perspective to create clear and articulate documents
• Excellent working relationship with the Bid Director : each bid’s design will be professional, modern and innovative : a key feature of our brand, will be the continually-evolving, leading and bespoke nature of our submissions
• To work effectively on multiple and concurrent projects.
• Writing creative capability prose based on factual information
• Producing high standard text which accurately reflects the needs of the client’s business
• Analyse client requirement documents to ensure that the responses being created respond to the explicit and implicit questions being asked
• Sets a clear plan (over a realistic period) to familiarise yourself with all existing clients to better understand the importance of the opportunity (and any bid theme which emanates from that)
• Sets and achieves tender deadlines by managing others effectively
• Ensure all stakeholders receive regular feedback and advance notice of upcoming activity
• Work effectively as part of our wider Bid Team
• Add value to the Bid Team by helping improve, through ongoing coaching, the writing skills of other colleagues in the Team
• Work with the Bid Director to create and initiate marketing and e-marketing campaigns as required, to maximise current and prospective audiences, establish alliances, develop promotional opportunities in print and online and forming marketing and media partnerships
• To develop an effective library of information and liaise with other departments to keep this updated
• Keeps up to date with group business ventures and services, competitors, relationships with customers, clients and suppliers, market evolution
• Helps identify additional opportunity by getting to know client requirements
• Targets and develops a network of influential internal and external contacts
• Promote a professional image at all times


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCED REQUIRED

• Previous Bid Writing experience in ideally a similar sector
• Educated to a minimum of 6 GCSE’s level A-C or equivalent
• Computer literate with demonstrable ability in Microsoft packages and databases
• Proven track record in a similar / complimentary bidding environment with transferable skills
• Educated to degree standard with excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to present at a senior level
• Proven competence in Microsoft Office suite (with additional Adobe Creative Suite and Indesign experience preferred)
• An extensive portfolio of previous work
• Able to present the bid plan and key win themes to the Bid Team
• A strategic and commercial attitude towards Sales and Marketing
• An assertive and confident member of the wider Sales Team with enthusiasm to inspire others
• Strong business orientation, analysis / problem solving, negotiation, resilience and collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with good time management
• Strong PC skills (Creative Suite, Indesign, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Access)
• Determination to succeed and continually forge the strength of the Bid Team
• Displays a bias for decisiveness by meeting the most aggressive timelines for delivering high quality bids
• Confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated
