Our Client is a dynamic, award-winning Financial Adviser support group with over 25 years industry experience, incorporating the largest network of independent financial advisers in the UK


They currently have an exciting opportunity for an Adviser Technology Consultant, based at head office near Leeds. Reporting directly to the head of Technical Services & Research, you will be joining a fast moving, innovative team on the cutting edge of financial services research and development.


You will be the key co-ordinator between the compliance, research and IT functions, helping shape the future adviser facing IT systems for the UK’s largest network supporting independent financial advice in the UK.


You will be responsible for the following:
• Reviewing regulatory and market change, translating that into practical impacts for our client and it’s financial advisers and then helping adapt out adviser facing IT systems to capitalise on opportunities
• To act as an 'Ambassador’ for adviser-facing I.T. systems, liaising effectively between Research, Compliance, Policy & IT in the ongoing development, maintenance and support of leading systems
• To constantly look at how technology can make the lives of the advisers easier and how staff can support advisers using IT in line with the group’s advice processes, compliance policies and operating procedures
• To provide and co-ordinate expert input into the requirements, design and testing of I.T. systems, and their on-going maintenance, to support member firms
• To have overall responsibility for maintaining high quality financial and product data to underpin member-facing technologies.
• To assist with more complex product/regulatory system user queries, investigating and resolving queries relating to advice processes, compliance policies and operating procedures, liaising directly with users as required
• To share expert knowledge across the business as well as being part of change focus groups and strategic projects.


You will be able to demonstrate the following experience:
• Qualified to QCF Level 4 diploma level or working towards achieving.
• A personal interest in technology
• An understanding of FCA regulations and financial services products
• An understanding of the advice process (and non-advised/execution only process) and have the ability to quickly absorb compliance policies and operating procedures
• The ability to build bridges and maintain relationships both internally between departments and with external companies
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience of working on a change management project and problem solving in this arena would be an advantage.
• It would also be an advantageous to have experience of using some of the following financial advice IT systems: Focus:360, Intelligent Office, True Potential, Xplan, Prestwood Truth, Defaqto Engage, The Exchange, Assureweb, Trigold, Financial Express, Moody’s Analytics, Paraplanning Online etc
