An International Clothing Manufacturer and Retailer is looking for a HR Manager to join their professional HR team supporting 500+ employees; to develop, implement and review the Business’s HR policies, provide HR guidance and support to all line management in the efficient and effective performance management of their own teams and people responsibilities and to manage the Health & Safety function in line with Company culture and defined legislation.

Main responsibilities:

• To manage all employee relations issues, coaching line managers and encouraging the resolution of issues at an informal and local level where possible.
• To cultivate a culture of fairness by ensuring that Managers treat colleagues consistently and fairly in line with HR policies and procedures and evolving legislation.
• To contribute towards the development and implementation of HR policies.
• To manage the HR advisors and HS Advisor to ensure that the business risk related to employee relations and welfare is mitigated through pro-active use of company policy, procedures and employment & H&S legislation.
• To continuously research and benchmark Damart’s Employment Relations strategy with external bodies to ensure progressive policies in line with best practice and legislation reducing the need to pay for external advice.
• To coach and develop the HR / H&S advisors to enable their growth as individuals in order to deliver an efficient service to their internal customers.
• To scope, plan, manage or contribute to HR elements of identified Business projects in order to assist in the delivery of specified project milestones, timelines and success factors.
• As part of the HR Management team contribute to the management of ongoing employee development and the implementation of specific employee initiatives.
• Forecast, prepare and manage budgets for own areas of responsibility.


You will be:

• MCIPD qualified or significant experience with an equivalent SME
• Well rounded and up to date legislative knowledge with the ability to anticipate issues
• Experience of application of Disciplinary & Grievance procedures in a fast paced, operational organisation
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills
• Project Management skills
