We are working with a UK business that is part of a leading manufacturing group and they are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the business.


Reporting into the MD the role will be responsible for managing all aspects of finance, including overseeing day to day accounting and responsible for the full year-end and monthly accounts process.


In addition to managing the accounting function the role will also be involved with wider commercial areas such as leases, IT upgrades, customer services and sales. Key duties will include;


•Supporting the MD with all aspects of finance, commercial and strategic areas.
•Preparing monthly management accounts - P&L, Balance sheet, Accruals and prepayments
•Year-end accounting and preparing for the auditors
•Full month-end process including preparation of the management pack and key reports
•Budgeting, forecasting and Variance Analysis
•Commercial reporting - weekly sales reports, flash figures and KPI's, Costs, Margins and performance analysis
•Stock management, reporting and reconciliation
•Cash management and cash flow forecasting
•Managing the finance team (3 people) and overseeing all day to day accounts - ledger control, bank reconciliation, payroll, credit control and customer invoicing
•Overseeing Customer Service and Sales
•VAT and Intrastat reporting


For this role candidates will need to be fully qualified ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA and have proven experience working at this level.


Candidates will ideally have experience within manufacturing, wholesale or import/ export (although this is not essential).


Strong technical accounting experience is required, in addition to being involved with wider commercial and strategic areas, as the role will not strictly be finance.
