They are looking for a person with experience, organisation and enthusiasm to appoint as a Team Leader for the developing team of Global Account Handlers situated in our Birmingham office. The team operates in a busy Corporate/Commercial general insurance broking environment and has a strong day to day working relationship with our London based Global Team.

The overall purpose of the Team Leader role is to effectively manage and develop the team, providing leadership, management, direction, mentoring and support for all subordinate staff to ensure the operational efficiency and success of the business and to ensure that all work carried out by the team is compliant.

The role also requires the candidate to successfully provide client service for an allocated portfolio of accounts for the structure and design of global insurance arrangements and broking, placement and handling of insurance requirements for clients as required.


Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:



• To manage team performance in accordance with KPI's and deliverable requirements of the business and ensure staff competence is maintained
• Support and motivate the team and to monitor absenteeism, deal with grievance issues and conduct regular 1:1 meetings, annual appraisals and team meetings
• Provide assistance and support to the team for technical advice, insurance programme structure, broking, placement and for general day to day account administration as required to provide the necessary service to client accounts as demand arises
• Undertake all technical and day to day account handling requirements to provide the necessary service to client accounts


ยท Provide technical input and advice for Global Insurance Programme structure and for documentation relevant to the successful broking and placement of risks

• Prepare correspondence, documentation and other communication for issue to clients and other client representatives as necessary
• Create and maintain records of communication with clients and insurers
• Liaise with London to ensure the needs of clients and Network Brokers are being met and deliver as part of the team to agreed client service requirements


ยท Ensure that all statutory and company regulations are followed to protect clients, colleagues and the business interests of the company.

Experience & Education Requirements:


• Global and Major Corporate Insurance account handling experience (either in an insurer or broking environment)
• Suitable management experience in a busy office environment, with staff reports and having conducted a full range of management duties


Desirable:



ยท ACII (or progress towards qualification)

ยท Other insurance or risk management qualification or Diploma.
