The Company:
One of the UK’s most recognisable brands are seeking to recruit a talented Buyer.

The Role:
The Buyer will form an integral part of the Sourcing function in the achievement of Operational objectives. With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the candidate will take a proactive approach in delivering to demanding timescales from a supply base located in the Far East and the UK.

Key Duties:

• Managing and controlling the company’s external suppliers
• Ensure finished products or component parts are purchased at the most competitive price and delivered to the required schedule.
• Establish strong relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company’s needs.
• Controlling costs through current supplier negotiation and alternative supplier sourcing.
• Develop close working relationships with associated departments, eg Production, Planning and NPD.
• Continually review current sourcing methods and propose opportunities to drive down external spend.
• Managing critical paths to achieve the required delivery date.
• Analysing and Reporting on Vendor Performance.
• Working with Freight Forwarders and external suppliers to achieve the most cost effective schedule.



Requirements:

• A working knowledge of Far East sourcing is essential.
• High competency level in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Experience of working with an MRP system.
• An understanding of Vendor Compliance to international standards
• MCPIS - desirable
