My client is an established SME which is part of a group of companies. They are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to head up the UK operation.


Reporting into the MD and Group FD, the role will involve full responsibility for the finance function and assisting the MD with some operational aspects. Key duties will include;


•Month-end accounting, Management & Financial reporting for group submission
•Year-end accounting, Board pack preparation and analysis
•Reporting into MD and Group FD- working as part of the management team amd attending management meetings
•Day to day management and direction of the accounts team (4 people)
•Responsible for HR & Training, Pensions, Insurances, Health & Safety, Customer T& C's, managing the company fleet
•Involvement and overseeing all day to day accounting- credit control, AP, AR, Bank reconciliation, cash management ect
•Cash flow forecasting and reporting, Budget control.
•Ensuring procedures and systems are being properly followed, updating and reviewing financial controls


For this role candidates will need to be qualified CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA and have proven experience managing and being responsible for the finance function within SME''s.


Candidate will need to have strong communication skills, be confident dealing with managers across the business, in addition to the technical accounting.


The role will be part of a system implementation project, so ideally candidates will have experience of this - knowledge of Navision / MS Dynamics would be an advantage. Strong excel skills are also essential for the role.
