Our client is looking to hire an Indirects Procurement Buyer to look after services procurement for the business unit. They are a Global Facilities business operating in EMEA, ASIA and the Americas.

Following a period of significant restructuring and investment, they are implementing a strategy to deliver shareholder value. The business model is designed to drive higher revenue, generate sustainable profit growth and increased free cash flow.

Job Overview:


The Indirect Procurement Buyer will drive strong commercial value across the indirect procurement categories through a focus on delivery of cost-reduction initiatives and implementing new products or services. The initial scope and focus is the UK business with potential expansion into international markets or other categories.


Job Duties:


• Managing Category procurement across: Energy, Marketing, Travel Services, Third Party Logistic, Temporary Labour Sub-Contractors, Waste Management and Ancillary items.
• Deliver cost reduction projects to support on-going business objectives
• Negotiate and draft contracts or SLAs (typically up to £5m p.a.) in accordance with Group policy and processes.
• Work closely with the UK Board to propose new ideas, agree plans for implementation and deliver positive results
• Management of allocated suppliers to drive quality standards, adherence to product specifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support acquisition projects with supplier analysis and savings proposals
• Analysis of category spend data (up to £100m per category) to identify critical suppliers and potential cost saving opportunities.
• Market research to keep up to date on changing product trends, innovation, price movements and legislative requirements
• Rationalising the vendor and product base to reduce complexity, and deliver improvement opportunities


Experience Required:


• Experience in Buying Indirect Services across broad services within a blue chip environment.
• Good capability in the use of key tools within the Microsoft Office suite
• Ideally degree qualified or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience of complex supplier engagement; achieving measurable success in a professional manner
• Development and application of good category / product knowledge
• International procurement experience is desirable but not essential
• Relevant professional training or business skill certification (such as MCIPs or Prince 2)
