Purchasing Manager : Indirects

We are seeking applicants with senior level experience in developing and implementing indirect sourcing strategies within the retail sector.

Key categories you will be managing are all Packaging for products within the business, some 30,000+ SKU's and facilities management for the retail outlets, mainly soft services.

Key Duties:

• Identify, analyse and restructure current Head Office and Retail Stores spend for all non-merchandise items
• Negotiation & centralising of all hard and soft facilities services for all retail stores
• Stock management, including reporting and analysing
• Import scheduling to the UK and international stores
• Packaging development, in conjunction with marketing
• Supplier relationship management, advising non-stock suppliers of annual volume requirements and delivery schedules in line with the seasonal forecast and with a view to minimising costs and maximising service and quality levels, sourcing new suppliers as appropriate.
• Undertake analytical work and business appraisals as requested by the Financial Controller
• Plan and organise any other ad hoc projects as required by the Financial Controller and to ensure that objectives and deadlines are met


Key Experience:

• Experience of senior level indirect buying at a managerial level.
• Demonstrate previous examples of delivering best value for money solutions with on-time delivery across a wide supplier base.
• Good understanding of International Manufacture & European and International supply chains.
• Retail experience is preferable
• Good PC skills and numerical competence are essential
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to influence at all levels
• Excellent planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to adapt to ad hoc demands
• Personable and approachable
