Our client is an innovative and leading FMCG food organisation who now require an all-round, exceptional Operations Managers who got experience within the Food Industry preferably and you’ll be directly responsible for achieving the company’s production volumes, on time delivery and profit targets. The role carries direct managerial responsibility for the Production, Purchasing & Stock control personnel:


PRODUCTION: Ensuring that Products are manufactured correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance to customer build specification and quality requirements.

1. Forecasting & Planning: Forecasting, Planning, Scheduling and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved cost effectively.
2. Capacity & Capability: Ensuring that the shop floor has the necessary manpower, competence, skill, knowledge, plant and tooling required in order to achieve forecasted production targets.
3. Cost Management: Ensuring that Production costs are monitored against budget and used to define and implement continuous improvement programs.


STOCK-CONTROL: Managing the Inventory function /stock control department to ensure raw material and product is receipted, located, stored and transferred correctly and that the company’s stock inventory is accurate.


MANAGEMENT TEAM: As part of the senior management team you will also be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets and overall business aims.

Education & Experience:

• Ideally educated to Degree level in Operations or Production Management
• A minimum of 3/5 Years Senior Production / Plant Management experience within a Food or FMCG Production environment
• A proven track record of delivery of their objectives


Skills & Competencies:

• Possess a broad background in manufacturing with a wide range of knowledge on manufacturing and production processes, preferably within the Food or FMCG manufacturing industry.
• Have a strong understanding of Production Cost & Financial Reporting, with the ability to identify and deliver cost improvement opportunities
• Have a strong understanding of production demand & capacity planning and scheduling
• Have a strong understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools within a high volume, high quality food manufacturing facility
• Ability to build a high performance team who can operate efficiently, effectively, productively and cost effectively
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
• Have a working understanding of procurement & MRP
• Have a working understanding of health and safety best practice and legislation.
