Job Information

Cameron James is proud to be working in partnership with an Award winning, environmentally friendly Logistics Company with an International presence. They are looking for an HR advisor to join their team for a fixed term contract of 6-12 months and bring their expertise and drive for HR to the company.

The successful person will be able to manage a 360 Generalist role within a team, reporting to the HR Manager and the HR Director, as well as coaching and upskilling the current HR Officer and Assistant. Ideally from a similar background, the main necessity is for this person to have guided managers through difficult and complex ER cases, supporting them on the process and procedures rather than taking their cases over from them. Employment Law knowledge and constant knowledge updating on new legislation would be of benefit as would previous experience in a Unionised environment.

The main responsibilities within this position are:

• To advise and support managers across the UK and Eire on ER cases from absence management through to complex dismissal or formal disciplinary procedures from a consultative and advisory standpoint.
• Ensure that any issues arising from the unions are picked up and the correct legal frameworks adhered to.
• Upskill Managers on employment law and surrounding issues to ensure compliance across all divisions and procedures
• Upskill and work in partnership with the HR Officer to ensure all skills and knowledge are passed on
• Ensure that the key operational areas of the business are focused upon from a commercial aspect and produce reports accordingly for the month end and ad hoc for the board of directors.
• Portray a dynamic and welcoming face of HR to ensure that managers and employees know that issues will be dealt with correctly and in a timely fashion
• Be able to think through and suggest different solutions whilst remaining within legal HR frameworks to ensure that managers have looked at all aspects rather than a one size fits all approach
• Have a full Generalist remit and experience

Key skills required:

• CIPD qualified ideally level 5 or 7
• Degree qualified
• IT literate- the company uses Select HR so previous use of Crystal reporting and intermediate Excel skills are beneficial
• Previous experience in a heavily unionised environment would be desirable
