Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with a National Leisure organisation who are looking to appoint an ER Manager for an immediate 12 months FTC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on the development and implementation of corporate and directorate employee relation’s policies and initiatives, and monitor systems and procedures in order to promote good practice across the Council, working with the Business Partner team.
• Monitor developments in the field of employee relations and provide timely advice to the wider HR Service on how this may affect service provision.
• Provide advice and support to managers in more complex individual employee relation’s cases and at disciplinary hearings/appeals, to ensure that the procedures are adhered to and standards of good employment practice are met.
• Assist the legal services team, in collaboration with the relevant HR Business Partner, in preparing the responses to employment tribunal applications and other human resources related legal issues.
• Attend Employment Tribunals to give evidence as required.
• Ensure that all teams across HR Services are provided with regular employee relations updates such as changes to terms and conditions and case law, in order that staff can continue to provide accurate and quality information to managers at all times.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

• CIPD qualified and/or extensive relevant experience and evidence of continual professional development.
• A proven track record of successfully managing complex employee relations issues.
• Demonstrable experience of implementing and monitoring employee relations strategies and practices.
• Commitment to equality and diversity, identifying service strategies to deliver equitable and fair services for users and employees, challenging discriminatory practices and actively managing and promoting diversity.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
• Ability to build sound and productive working relationships with colleagues, partners and staff groups and can engage others in a credible, persuasive way.
• Able to manage workloads and resources, assessing and taking account of known risks, able to adapt to changes and problems along the way.
