Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with an International Technology organisation who are looking to appoint a Head of HR for an initial Maternity Leave Cover.

The Head of Human Resources report into the Chief Executive Officer and will lead the recruitment, development and retention of employees to retain competitive advantage for the company in order to meet strategic, business and operational objectives through an engaged, motivated and skilled workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development of people strategies that support the company’s strategic aims, the delivery of its business objectives and enables it to successfully deliver and implement change to support the growth of the business
• Providing advice to the CEO and the UK Management team on strategic HR issues, HR policy and employee relations
• Implementing a recruitment and selection strategy to secure future talent
• Managing the Appraisal System
• Ensuring the HR staff handbook, policies, frameworks and procedures are implemented consistently, comply with legislative requirements to protect the organisations interest, reflect best practice, enable it to deliver its business objectives and promote high standards of people management
• Managing the implementation of projects
• Oversee the UK benefit schemes and create and implement new employee initiatives
• To lead the HR team, ensuring objectives are in line with business needs
• Managing the HR administration ensuring that; personnel records are maintained, all employee correspondence is accurate and sent in a timely manner, the holiday and absence system is accurate, the UK organisation charts are correct, and the HR database is maintained


Person Specification:

• Previous presentation experience
• Ability to lead change and encourage innovation
• Ability to communicate in a clear and compelling way to different audiences, champion equalities and foster a culture of trust and openness
• Excellent problem solving skills and effective interpersonal skills
• Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Ability to deal sensitively, assertively and objectively with people
• To produce work to a consistently high standard within tight deadlines
• To have a friendly, approachable, flexible attitude to work and be a self-motivated, pro-active individual
• Proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of HR policy and current legislation and its practical application
• Previous experience of heading up an HR function, managing an HR team and having sole responsibility for the effective running of the department
