Salary - £25,000 - £35,000 per annum

Established in 1994, this company base their success on hard work and excellent customer service. Due to growth within the team they are recruiting for an experienced Underwriter.

The starting salary is dependent on experience and the position is full time, five days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Account Handler:
• Instructing surveyors on larger and more complex risks
• Underwriting new or existing business profitably, accurately and in line with established underwriting practice
• Delivering renewal of existing customers in line with team targets
• Providing underwriting support to customers, internal and external as required
• Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues through high quality communication
• Producing timely and accurate documentation
• Responding to the changing insurance requirements
• Actively growing the Insurance business through identifying and acting on opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell
• Working within underwriting authority
• Owning any queries received and resolving correctly, quickly and efficiently at the first opportunity


Requirements of the Account Handler:
• An understanding of market products such as Professional Indemnity, Fleet, Motor Trade, Commercial Combined
• 3+ Years of successful Commercial Insurance experience
• Good PC/ skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word
• Team focused
• Effective time management skills
• Progression towards DIP CII - desirable
• `A` Level or equivalent education
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Live in commutable distance to the office or happy to relocate
