Cameron James Professional Recruitment are working with a Professional Services company who are looking to appoint a HR Officer. The HR Officer will be responsible for the provision of day-to-day administrative, operational and advisory human resources services to a designated Division of the Company.


Responsibilities:


Support the overall objectives of the HR department to ensure the effective delivery of the HR service.
• Advising managers and staff on HR policies and procedures
• Responding in the first instance to manager and staff queries
• Recruitment : Advertising, interviewing and on-boarding
• Undertaking the New Joiner, Transfer, Promotion and Leaver processes
• Production of offer letters, termination letters and associated documentation
• Carrying out exit interviews
• Working with Divisional managers to assess future staffing needs
• Carrying out disciplinary/grievance procedures
• Running reports from the ADP system as required
• Appraisal system : preparing packs and ensuring that appraisals take place on a timely basis
• Administration of job descriptions
• Maintenance of staff personnel files (both electronic and paper)
• Maintenance of general HR filing system (both electronic and paper)
• Maintenance of Display Screen Equipment assessments
• Undertake appropriate project work to support the activities of the HR function
• Establish and develop excellent relationships with Divisional managers and staff

Person Specification:


A Level English and Maths at grade C or above
CIPD or working towards CIPD qualification
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of HR
Planning and organising
Time management and prioritisation
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to be able to deal effectively with management and staff members at all levels
Basic knowledge of employment-related legislation
Experience of working in HR with an insurance company or insurance broker
HR policies and procedures
Core IT systems
