Job Information

Our client is a leading Chartered Independent Broker in Birmingham who now has a Vacancy for a Commercial Account handler.

Our client is offering an excellent Basic Salary of up to Β£ 24,000, Pension, Private Medical Insurance, Permanent Health and 25 days’ holiday on target Bonus.


For this position you will be required to:

• Develop client relationships and business opportunities, working with colleagues and suppliers as appropriate;
• Provide support in delivering the Commercial Account Team development target agreed in the Annual Business Plan;
• Manage and develop own client portfolio of Commercial clients with a high level of service and expertise and identify bespoke risk management and insurance solutions;
• Service our existing base of clients from initial enquiry through policy issue and continued support and servicing;
• Provide technical expertise and advice as required;
• Understand and administer all Commercial Schemes in accordance with procedures;
• Identify and embrace cross-selling and other opportunities to increase revenue;
• To be flexible with working hours when client work demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Service



• Provide a prompt response to client requests and queries in a polite and courteous manner;
• Manage own client portfolio;
• Provide a professional, friendly, helpful, accurate and informative service;
• Conduct negotiations with insurers to achieve the optimum solution for clients and a mutually acceptable outcome to the insurer and to the business;
• Provide support to clients and Account Executives throughout the whole cycle of insurance management, including renewal and placement of risk;
• Deliver client renewals and projects in line with agreed service levels;
• Prepare Marketing presentations;
• Provide written renewal feedback to Account Executives in a timely manner to allow the Account

• Relationship Management



• Conduct negotiations to achieve the optimum solution for clients, and a mutually acceptable outcome to the insurer and the business;
• Understand the insurance market and develop knowledge of products and market requirements;
• Ensure consistently high service levels, liaison with peers, Commercial Team Manager and Directors as appropriate;
• Demonstrate to clients a capability to understand and meet their business’ insurance needs, thus gain their confidence;
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with insurer partners;
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with all contacts;
