Salary: Up to £35,000 dependent on experience

This role requires the successful candidate to achieve and exceed targets through the development of the organisations corporate book and conversion of prospects into clients. Also expected to proactively drive significant growth through self-generation by concentrating on New Business development and work towards achieving Group and divisional objectives.

Duties will include:

• Develop innovative sales strategies and plans designed to leverage Corporate interest and business
• Draw on existing network and other methods to self-generate leads
• Actively participate as required in cross selling through all divisions of the company
• Maintain effective working relationships with Account Executives and service teams to assist subsequent servicing
• Ensure all activities which are undertaken are compliant with regulation and internal standards and procedures
• Open dialogue with potential new clients and discuss the company products with knowledge and credibility
• Provide price information in and clear, consistent and accurate fashion
• Plan and implement appointments to ensure effective use of time and provide activity reports on a monthly basis
• Prepare and deliver presentations as appropriate to client audiences at all levels

The job requires following as essential:

• A minimum of two years General Insurance experience is required
• Cert CII is preferred but not essential
• Business/Sales Development experience
• The management of claims including the management of large losses, settlement processes, reserving techniques and rules
• Class of risk and product knowledge
• Knowledge of fundamental legal and regulatory policy in relation to the insurance contract, law of tort, the law of contract and the insurance contract
• FSA Rules, particularly those relating to Compliance matters (Treating Customers Fairly)
• The operation of the Company’s IT system, including procedures, authority limits and audit trails
• The Company’s Complaints Procedure, The Financial Ombudsman’s Scheme and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
