Cameron James Professional Recruitment is currently working with a multi million pound private establishment that is looking for a Purchasing manager to join their team in Oxford. The candidate will have a good work ethic along with the high level of motivation to work within a fast moving growing environment.

The successful candidate will be directly reporting to the financial controller and will be in charge of managing the daily supply of equipment and services that is essential to the organisations operations. The right candidate will also be able to perform strategic procurement activates across serval categories as well as being able liaise with different departments offering a timely and effective purchasing services.

Some of the day to day responsibilities include:

• Responsible for all sales order processing through to the despatch of the finished product.
• Manage & schedule the production plan with the factory management.
• Reporting directly to MD
• Implement procedures and processes concerning all aspects of purchasing with external suppliers.
• Search for new Vendor Partnerships
• Establish Clear communication to and from the warehouses, online trade, partner vendors
• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
• Discover the most profitable suppliers and initiate business partnerships negotiating the most advantageous terms
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
• Monitor and help Heads of Department forecast upcoming levels of demand
• monitor spend and help build a culture of long term cost saving

Requirements/ IT skills:

• Proven working experience as a purchasing manager
• Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management
• Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
• negotiation experience
• Working experience of vendor management software
• Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
• Working with Sage System
• Knowledge in all aspects of procurement management.
• Having worked in a factory environment and processes
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge in cost management
• Experience in Purchasing Agricultural equipment would be an advantage
• Proven managerial experience
• CIPS in Supply Chain would be advantageous.
