Job Information

We are working exclusively with a well established construction business, who are looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join the business.

Reporting into the MD and Directors, the role will involve managing the HR function for the business in a stand alone capacity. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

•Standalone HR role reporting to the Managing Director - responsible for all aspects of HR best practice
•Provide guidance to MD and Board of Directors on legislative changes and required updates to company policies and procedures
•Employee Relations; Disciplinary and grievance processes, Providing expert advice to managers and employees on a range of employment issues
•Responsible for the creation, implementation, and updates of Company policies and procedures
•Compile and provide MI reports (including forecasting, sickness absence, annual leave ect)
•Management of the full recruitment and new starter process for the company, including sourcing, interviewing, reference checking, making offers to candidates, delivering induction training and the full on-boarding process.
•Evaluating competencies & training needs for all employees
•Maintain/update company handbook to reflect legislative and procedural changes
•Deliver induction to new starters and carry out exit interviews
•Administration and updating employee HR records
•Restructuring and Change Management
•Payroll administration

For this role candidates must have proven experience at this level and have worked in a stand-alone role within an SME.

It would be a distinct advantage if candidates have worked within the construction / building / roofing sector (or similar), although this is not essential. Candidates who have had experience providing HR support to both blue and white collar workers would also be of interest.

Candidates must have strong communication skills and have a straight talking attitude, in addition to being confident taking a hands on approach within all aspects of HR - including being involved with HR administration.
