Job Information

My client who is based in York city centre, located walking distance from the train station is looking for an internal audit officer to join their internal audit and risk team.

Main accountabilities

• Produce clear and concise audit reports
• Work with the Head of Internal Audit and Risk
• Plan and carry out the audit reviews
• Working to deadlines for reporting of the outcomes
• Liaise with colleagues across the company to obtain the information and evidence
• Identify practical solutions to help drive forward improvements
• Follow up audit findings to ensure they have been implemented on a timely basis
• Identifying, recording, management and escalation of key risks
• Keep up-to-date with developments in internal audit and risk management

Essential

• Good understanding of the principles of internal controls and standards
• Good understanding of risk management principles and best practice
• Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity
• Good time management and organisational skills, with experience of working to strict deadlines
• Good attention to detail in carrying out and documenting audit reviews
• Strong analytical skills used to provide unbiased and objective views on the business areas under review
• Excellent people skills, with ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues in different functions and based at various locations across the business
