We are working with a large public sector business and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Business Partner.

Reporting into the HR manager the main focus of the role will be focusing on the organisations People Strategy and to ensure that the Strategy is implemented and delivered effectively, in addition to being involved with all aspects of a generalist HR role, working in a busy team. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Work with Management Teams to develop people strategies including attendance management, health and well-being, responses to staff surveys, talent management etc.
• Lead on the development and implementation of people management aspects of organisational change, taking lead responsibility for implementing a People Plan for change programmes such as restructures, TUPE transfers, cultural change programmes etc.
• Development and delivery of training courses to develop people management skills
• Conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations, managing attendance, redundancy and TUPE handling, resolving bullying and harassment issues, etc.
• Use consultancy skills and take a coaching approach to up-skill managers in dealing with people issues.
• To act as lead adviser for providing proactive and professional advice in relation to employment law and the management of all employee relations matters.
• Lead and manage the people related aspects of organisational change programmes, particularly in relation to restructuring, redundancies, redeployment and TUPE transfers, including the provision of professional advice on employment law and best practice
• Lead and manage a personal caseload, delivering proactive, targeted and expert advice to managers on the management of all employee relations matters including: disciplinary, grievance, capability, redundancy, sickness absence management, harassment and bullying, providing clear, consistent and quality advice.
• Contribute to the development of new or revised policies, procedures and guidance, in line with employment law and best practice, to meet business needs.
• Lead and manage consultations with recognised Trade Unions, liaising with local and regional officers in relation to policy development, organisational change programmes and individual employee relations cases
• Maintain up to date professional knowledge of employment legislation, including emerging legislation and best practice, to ensure policies and practices are complaint with employment law
• Advise managers on job evaluation process and also participate as a trained member of job evaluation panels.
• Maintain accurate manual and electronic records of all employee relations cases

For this role it is essential that candidates have worked at a similar level and are fully CIPD Qualified (or equivalent).

Experience within the public sector is required and experience dealing with trade union consultations in respect of employment policy and employee relations matters would be a distinct advantage.
