Commercial Underwriter : up to £23,000 plus bonus and generous company pension.
To assess commercial risks in line with underwriting guidelines and to provide an underwriting service for Sales teams. The two drivers will be to negotiate the best terms for the client and to protect and enhance the insurer accounts.

To carry out tasks based on the workloads provided by Sales teams and ensure that all requirements are met.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• To effectively carry out tasks set by senior team members.

• To clear terms for quotes sent by Sales Executives with due reference to premium, terms and conditions and policy endorsements.

• To provide effective support to others in the team and to Sales staff.

• To provide solutions to queries and technical assistance for other departments.

• To liaise with insurers and maintain relationships.

• To effectively decide which insurer’s product would be most suitable for client’s needs.

• To develop an understanding of insurance underwriting principles.

• To operate to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements
Minimum grade C GCSE or equivalent or CII
Negotiation experience
Commercial insurance knowledge / experience
Knowledge of insurance principles and practices
Able to effectively deal with legal and technical concepts
Effective decision-making skills
Able to work under pressure as part of a team.
Able to effectively distinguish priority tasks from non-priority tasks
Accuracy and attention to detail
Patient and willing to learn
Self-motivated, Integrity, honesty.
