Due to continued growth I am working with a leading Financial Services business who are looking to recruit a driven, tenacious Credit Controller to join their friendly team based in Leeds. This role would suit a confident experienced Credit Controller who is keen to deliver excellent results and provide first class customer service.

You will be required to effectively support the Credit Control Manager, whilst working in a team environment to improve process and cash flow within the business. Build key stakeholder relationships and minimise bad debts, whilst maintaining key focus around client cash management and funding process and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly aged debtor reports for management reporting purposes.
• Identify and prioritise aged debtor balances between high, medium and low risk accounts.
• Appropriately target customers in accordance with standard group credit control procedures according to the highest level of risk.
• Liaise closely and build relationships with key customers to improve cash flows.
• Ensure the production and issue of complete and accurate premium statements to all agents on monthly basis.
• Manage the timely preparation of commission statements and their settlement where appropriate whilst utilising the ability to withhold or expedite payment as leverage.
• Produce monthly reports on debtors movements for management reporting and performance monitoring purposes.
• Liaise closely with technical underwriting staff to resolve customer and agent queries.
• Manage the resolution of outstanding items on the query log to maintain accurate agent accounts.
• Assist the cashiers in the identification of unknown items for posting to the policy management system in a timely manner.
• Assist colleagues with the resolution of all customer queries but particular those relating to agent accounts.
• Ensure that GISC/FSA Regulations are complied with.
• Liaise with Account Handlers in all departments in respect of client/underwriter queries.
• Fulfil your responsibilities in line with agreed processes in order to achieve agreed objectives, and in doing so, ensure compliance with the client and insurer money rules within the FCA Handbook. Where applicable, investigate the root cause of non-compliance, improve the process and reduce CASS breaches.

Key responsibilities:

• Evidence of good literacy & numeracy (at least Maths & English Grade A-C)
• Previous banking, accounts or credit control experience with knowledge of accounting systems : Desirable
• Keen industry awareness in client money/FCA and key regulatory requirements
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail : Essential
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads, both individually and part of a team : Essential
• Good communication skills both written and oral : Essential
