Our Client is a leading national Broker who is now due to expansion looking fora a HNW Underwriting Team manager

Manage the High Net Worth underwriting team in order to deliver a service where the insurance needs of our customers are met.

Principle Objectives and Responsibilities including the following, other objectives may be assigned:

* Manage the volumes and variation of work into the team and allocate accordingly to ensure that customer's demands are met, using the data available to identify predictable variations in demand and manage the team accordingly.
* Ensure a one stop capability of response wherever possible, monitoring and identifying any barriers to this, making recommendations to management for changes/solutions required.
* Monitor team data to identify variations in demand, type and frequency and make suggestions for changes in line with system thinking theory
* Analyse the productivity data to monitor percentage of value demand v failure demand and take steps where necessary to keep failure demand to a minimum.
* Prepare and present regular MI reports to TUPC director identifying trends and patterns in workflow so as to forecast future capacity requirements.
* Manage the team to ensure that we Underwrite the TUPC products in accordance with the Insurer binding authority to deliver targeted underwriting results and process risks as and when required
* Act as a product expert for the TUPC product range and support the personal development of the underwriting staff in the business by delivering or co-ordinating technical guidance and training where required
* Assist with the training and testing of staff as they progress through the underwriting authority levels in conjunction with insurer requirements.
* Act as a mentor for the underwriting team in sales and soft skills development.
* Assist the TUPC director with product development and delivery.
* Assist the TUPC director in broker development presentations, external and internal communications and rollout of new products and services.
* Effectively service demand from the brokers, building effective working relationships
* To undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-to-date with technical, legal and market developments via use of e-learning, internal training and reading market related material.
* To conduct the business of the Company at all times in a courteous and efficient manner.

Experience Required

* Previous experience of leading a sales/underwriting team.
* Previous experience in personal lines household and motor market, preferably High Net Worth but not essential .
* Dynamic individual

* Strong trading capability and evidence in delivery
* Excellent interpersonal/communication/sales/negotiation skills.
* Able to absorb and apply technical product knowledge.
