Role: Transport Clerk/Driver

Location: South East London

Salary: £21,500 + shift allowance £3500 per annum

My client, a renowned Global Logistics Company are looking for Transport Clerk/Driver to join their team in the South East London area. This is a truly exciting opportunity for someone with proven Transport & Logistics experience to join a forward thinking and successful company on a permanent basis.

Reporting in to the Transport Manager, the Transport Clerk/Driver will be responsible for;

• Arranging collections and deliveries.
• Liaising with customers and subcontractors.
• Maintaining and updating notes/information on to AS 400 system.
• Completion of manifests via AS 400.
• Costing of files and creation of invoices via AS 400.
• Completing collection / delivery notes.
• Data collation via spreadsheets.
• Taking ownership of subcontractor invoice reviews and costing enquiries, updates and performance control.
• Assisting management with Service contracts.
• Managing driver Tacho’s in accordance with VOSA standards.
• Managing vehicle control/allocation.
• Controlling any issues with vehicles.
• Managing driver infringements.
• Carrying out driving duties as and when required.
• Liaising with the Transport Operations Manager and executing any further tasks or responsibilities.

In order to be considered for this role, the chosen candidate will have demonstrable experience within a role of a similar nature. Key requirements include;

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Computer literate, Word, Excel etc.
• Sound geographical knowledge.
• Transport experience.
• Ambitious and enthusiastic nature with the ability to work autonomously.
• Previous administration duties dealing with job files and driver Tacho’s.

The following are a pre-requisite for the role;

• HGV1 Licence.
• CPC Holder.
