My client is currently recruiting for an urgent Head of Finance position based in Leeds City Centre : just a 5 minute walk from the train station.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the public sector

The role will be leading a team of 10, with 3 direct reports and you will be responsible for providing strong financial governance and leading the team in supporting and enabling the organisations objectives.

Duties include:

� Ensuring financial and budgetary systems and process are effective and implementing changes if necessary to improve performance
� Manage all aspects of the business activities ensuring financial procedures are produced and adhered to
� Providing advice on projects, loans and grants as required
� Delivering the objectives on finance to support the company
� Working with senior managers to provide strategic financial input into reports and decisions
� Providing commercial insight and advice on project and investment decisions
� Assisting with developing financial and budgetary plans and understanding their plans and impacts on income and expenditure
� Direct and motivate the team to produce the annual budget
� Ensuring budgets and planning is in accordance with business planning process
� Leading the team to produce annual accounts in accordance with legislation and set deadlines
� Tax and VAT Compliant
� Timely and accurate reporting on revenue and capital budgets and financial monitoring
� Setting and monitoring financial KPIs for the team
� Providing advice and support to board and its committees

Key skills:

� Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
� Experience working in a similar environment
� Commercial experience

Offering competitive salary of c£58k + benefits including flexitime, 28 days holidays and other incentives. Ideally looking for someone immediately available but will still consider those on notice
