Our Client is one of the leading Investment Management companies in the UK requiring a Training and Competency Officer on a 6 month fixed contract.
Job Title: Training & Competence Manager

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for the development of the Training and Competency (T&C) framework and policy implementation for staff. The role will ensure that the enhanced Training and Competence Scheme is communicated to all staff who are impacted, especially those who undertake regulated activities, and work with managers to embed appropriate training and development supervisory controls to maintain ongoing competence in all areas.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Work in partnership with the L&D Manager (within the HR Function) to design, implement and embed an appropriate T&C Scheme incorporating the requirements for the Senior Managers & Certification Regime(SMCR) and MIFID II.
Work in partnership with stakeholders to implement and embed an appropriate culture that promotes an understanding and knowledge of regulatory expectations in respect of T&C, ensuring adherence to the firm’s T&C framework.
Oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, adherence to and ownership of the T&C Scheme and SMCR.
Work in partnership with the L&D, HR Business Partners and Resourcing teams to ensure all staff (including new staff) are aware of and comply with all requirements of their roles.
To act as an interface between the business areas, senior management and various support functions for recruitment and T&C.
Provide continual oversight and feedback on successes and gaps, proactively managing senior internal stakeholders.
Proactively identify improvements to the design, performance and reporting on the T&C Scheme.
