Title: Financial Crime Team Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking 2nd Line of Defence (2LoD) reviews within the Financial Crime Team, for the purposes of either signing-off or escalating case files to senior team members.
• Analysing entity files from start to finish, following the bank’s AML Policies & Procedures (including entity AML classifications and entity risk assessments).
• Liaising with Front Offices for the purposes of advising them on CDD (and EDD) documentary

• Managing AML escalation issues within the London Branch as escalated from Front Offices and Middle Offices.
• Providing support and advice to Front Offices on all relevant product types, from an AML perspective. These include Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Receivables Discounting, Correspondent Banking, Structured Trade Finance, Cash Equities, Derivatives etc.
• Providing support and advice to the MLRO on matters pertaining to AML.
• Providing training to Front Offices and other stakeholders as and when necessary.
• Undertaking ad-hoc tasks that may be administrative in nature.
• Working with other team members to help produce weekly and/or monthly MI for senior management.
• Undertaking tasks outside of the Financial Crime Team (but within the wider Compliance function) e.g. MiFID classification.

Competencies

• 3-4 years’ experience/proven track record in a similar role.
• An understanding of wholesale and corporate banking products and riskier products is crucial (e.g. Derivatives, Bond Trading, Debt Trading, Equities, Receivables Discounting etc.)
• Candidate must be able to communicate confidently and effectively with Front Offices and other senior persons, in clear written and spoken English. Being able to speak Spanish will be advantageous, but is not a requirement.
