We are working with a market leading logistics business and they are recruiting for an experienced HR Business Partner to join the group.

The role is for a 12 month Fixed Contract, with a view of the role going permanent after this time. They may consider a straight permanent position if required.

Reporting into the Head of HR the role will be responsible for providing HRBP support to the Midlands and Southern region, encompassing both strategic and operational HR support. You will be expected to deliver on the HR business strategy, provide a comprehensive generalist HR service and be involved on various HR projects and initiatives. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Report into the Head of HR, working as part of a team of 3 HRBP`s, overseeing 2 HR Advisors
• Responsible for the Midlands and Southern region - c600 employees across 6 offices (you would be expected to travel 2-4 times per month as and when required)
• Generalist HR Business Partnering role, encompassing ER, HR Project work, updating and standardising HR policies and procedures, high volume recruitment programmes, HRIS and delivering HR initiatives.
• Providing HR advice, coaching and support to the business, including expert advice on all matters around UK Employment Law
• Supporting on all areas of ER; grievances, disciplinary or attendance procedure hearings/ appeals etc.
• Demonstrating the value of our people and influencing others to achieve increased productivity, attendance and engagement
• Interpretation and application of multiple terms and conditions of any relevant collective agreements
• Development and delivery of manager up-skilling, working closely with other members of the wider HR team on company-wide initiatives and leadership of the wider talent agenda (e.g. performance development, succession planning)
• Provide high level advice, guidance and support on all HR matters to minimise risk and financial exposure, ensuring managers in your region are confident in the application of HR policies and practice
• Work closely with business leaders and line managers to achieve shared organizational objectives, including implementation and review of HRIS systems and processes that support strategic business aims
• Ensuring business objects are achieved whilst maintaining a positive working relationships with trade unions
• Support initiatives involving interaction with occupational health and employee assistance providers, focusing on maximising employee attendance and promotion of staff wellbeing
• Lead, measure and evaluate any actions resulting from employee engagement surveys
• Ensure robust recruitment and induction and an ongoing development programme is in place

For this role you will need to be CIPD Qualified and have experience working at this level. Ideally candidates will have experience working within logistics / distribution, engineering, manufacturing or similar blue collar environment.

Union experience would be an advantage, although not essential and ideally candidates will have in addition to strong HR experience; HR project work around standardisation of HR policies / procedures / terms and HR system implementation experience.
