Working in partnership with one of the country`s leading food manufacturers, I have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join a very busy and successful company. You can be based in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Teesside or Durham as you would be required to travel to the various offices as part of your role.

The key elements of this role are to build a plan to grow the small existing and unmanaged wholesale business in to a professional, proactive and tactically important wholesale business.

As the Sales Manager you will be responsible for:

• Procuring contract manufacturing customers both local, regional and national in nature.
• Working with manufacturing to build an attractive and profitable product portfolio to sell to a network of wholesale contacts
• Taking the lead and working with Retail to enable Regional, Area Managers and Shop Managers to secure local community wholesale business, whether ongoing, or event driven opportunities
• Starting, almost from scratch, developing the marketing tools and processes in the business to run, supply and serve a growing sales channel to an SLA that the Sales Manager will determine for Senior Management approval and support
• Creating a pricing structure to be able to be flexible with terms depending on volume, longevity of contracts, location and product supply

The successful candidate should have:

• Excellent sales skills with a proven track record, ideally within wholesale/ manufacturing
• Strong relationship management skills
• Be a self-starter that can develop and build a growth sales channel
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Good commercial financial acumen

Working hours are 9am : 5pm Monday to Friday. You will receive a salary of up to £50,000 per annum depending on your experience, along with usual company benefits. This role will require you to travel to different sites and regularly visit potential clients so you will need to hold a full, clean driving license with access to your own vehicle.
