A growing, fast paced organisation in the construction sector is looking to appoint an experienced Senior HR Advisor, ready to take the step into HR management, base at its Head Office in Winsford. With multiple regional sites and a workforce of over 160 colleagues, this is a brilliant opportunity to step into a varied, hands on role where you’ll shape HR delivery across a multi site operation.
Working closely with the Managing Director and partnering with the existing HR Business Partner, you’ll provide practical, consistent and commercially aligned HR support. This role suits someone who enjoys being visible in the business, building strong relationships and offering balanced, solutions focused guidance to managers.
The Role
You’ll act as the central HR contact for managers and teams across several regional offices, delivering a full generalist remit. Day to day, you’ll support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy compliance and HR reporting, while also contributing to wider people development projects as the organisation continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries across all sites
Travelling to regional offices to support managers and teams
Managing end to end recruitment, onboarding and induction
Preparing contracts, offer letters and new starter documentation
Coordinating payroll and benefits with internal teams
Maintaining accurate HR records and producing reports for senior leadership
Leading disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases
Conducting investigations and guiding managers through formal processes
Managing exit interviews and offboarding
Advising on GDPR and data protection
Keeping HR policies updated and aligned with legislation
Designing and delivering training resources
Establishing and managing an apprenticeship programme
Leading HR projects including succession planning and organisational change
Coaching managers and building capability across the business
About You
You’ll bring a confident, pragmatic and approachable style, with the ability to quickly build trust and support managers in a hands on operational environment.
We’re looking for:
Experienced Senior HR generalist /advisory background
Strong background in recruitment, employee relations and multi site HR delivery
Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
Comfortable producing HR reports and using HRIS systems
Excellent communication, coaching and relationship building skills
Strong problem solving ability with sound judgment and discretion
CIPD Level 5 or above 
Experience in construction, contracting or operational/trades environments (advantageous)
Full UK driving licence
