We are assisting a well-established distribution company with the recruitment of an experienced Sales Manager to join the business.

Working closely and reporting into the Commercial Director, the role will be responsible for an established team of Inbound Sales Advisors, ensuring the they meet and exceed business sales targets whilst offering excellent customer service. Key duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Managing a team of 8 inbound sales advisors, including all day to day management and ongoing development
  • Review performance and setting of activity plans, sales targets, objectives and setting KPI’s
  • Direct, manage, maintain and improve processes and procedures for all sales activities and operations, including introducing new ideas and training initiatives
  • Implement and assisting Directors with the company’s sales strategy, drafting annual sales budgets and presenting to the board on sales projects
  • Develop relationships with key customers and strategic partners, and assist with identifying new business opportunities to generate profitable sales growth.
  • Network with customers to develop relationships; ensure service delivery, customer satisfaction, and sales growth are maintained and exceeded
  • Assist with monthly reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances
  • Identify opportunities for new customers & implement new business initiatives across the new business and sales teams
  • Manage performance, development, coaching and general support of the sales team
  • Ensure the sales team are maximising sales order profitability through upselling and offering new products to customers

It is essential that candidates have proven sales management experience and can demonstrate leading and developing teams.

Experience within distribution, logistics, manufacturing, engineering or similar sector would be preferred, although not essential. Otherwise experience in high volume low value sales management would be ideal.
